I feel the thing I want to say,
would like to say, and wish to say,
dammit, need to say,
is on the tip of my tongue,
tip of my nose,
or the tip of the index finger I use to tap stuff
into my computermajig
and wait to see what lights up the screen,
what scrolls up or down, when
I have the words to say what I want to say, something,
anything that might surprise me,
delight me, make me leap from my chair,
turn a cartwheel or two,
laugh like a fool.
Alas, I stare at the screen, the empty screen;
for tonight
my fickle muse has abandoned me.
I have nothing to say.
Tonight, I’ve run out of words.

Stick out the tip of your tongue and let it be pulled by your thumb, leading it out the door waiting in store, and wander on down to a nursing home in town, pull out your pad and pen to boot, the stories you'll encounter will fill your mind and give you a hoot! Cheers, Deborah
