I watch the tranquil sea.
I watch the sea in rage.
I watch a ship upon the sea.
I watch the ship listing in the wind.
I see icy water everywhere.
I see myself riding a fish.
I am the one without the silver scales.
I am the odd one.
I am the fish out of water.

Being near the sea entrances me, draws me out of myself, takes me to the unknown lands across it and I thrive on water things. Am a scorpio, is that why the water is appealing to me. Love to swim and watch the boats, fish dive out of water, fish swimming in the lakes and you as a fish out of water are appealing too as a friend to be and a nice person to read poetry written by you.

Whenever I see poetry written about the ocean...the sea...it draws me in and won't let go...like your poem here. I love the last four lines of this.

You're in good acquatic company, Gene...your poetic buoyancy floats...water logged and soaked in Herman Melville's Moby Dick, the literary waters have been written in story for centuries...be well Gene...

This caught me with the first 2 lines--tranquil sea and sea in rage--I love the ocean yet it can be both, a friend and an enemy.
Good poem

...penned water of emotion...found deep within...and seemingly above the surface...we are given the reality of one whose wishes...go beyond.
very well written Gene...

Gene, this is a real "catcher" at the end...when you write, "I see myself riding a fish" my imagination went wild but the end caught me by surprise. A great write.
