I think we forget how fragile we are are with this world and how much we need to feel conscious of it...Great read Gene..I have the woods for moments like this

Isn't it amazing how the natural world can offer so much peace when we get away from the machines and rattle of the city. My escape was to the mountains ringing Los Angeles where the wilderness still ruled and people could access nature along narrow trails that climbed and climbed into the clouds. I miss those mountains. If you climbed high enough, the insanity of civilization was left far behind.

Such a lovely, calming poem born of a moment - transient - but recognized and appreciated.
