I YEARN TO HOLD THE AIR

With greed, I yearn to hold the air

While no division would I share

Not one breath, a sigh, or breeze

Would I abandon by such ease

This giant void....of nothingness

Bares secrets kept....and those expressed

That hovers softly as the veil

To carry all....yet leave the trail

A trail of whispers from the mind

And from the lips...to sail divine

Within my hands...I'd gladly hold

All the air...had left....untold

Sighhh

Dear Anita,

You do hold the air! Even now, I can envision your chest heaving as you inhale and exhale The Light of Love.

Blessings of Love & Light,

Have to agree with Jerry...this one bears reading over and over.
I love the images it puts in my head...and the graphic is perfect.

Well, we all KNOOOOOOOOOOOOW you've bin hogging your share of air cos there has been the most tremendous VACUUM while you've bin gone, Sweetheart!! NO-ONE else does this lyrical and most poised of lilting rhyme that also packs one helluva lotta punch at the same time... no-one!!! Your beauty and skilled penmanship have been lacking here. It's not just your poetic craft, but your concepts and mouldings of the mind that have been missed, too. But I am very grateful for all that you have sent on to me, and have loved every single one of them. Bless you for continuing to do that. LOL Kate xx

I agree with Jerry below, this is a very mystical and metaphysical composition, and stands up well to being re-read several times for more definitive understanding..
You rock Anita !

Lady A,

This is beautifully imaged and penned--sublime! This is what poetry is supposed to do. Leave the reader wanting more. And I do!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I truly believe we have knowledge of those secrets before birth, but as you allude to they are veiled from us when we enter this world. I remember as a child thinking I was orchestrating the wind by waving my hands. To one so young it seemed possible. It is tempting to want to hold the air within your hands and be privy to the universe. Something tells me tho that our minds couldn't handle or grasp it.
This write is soft as air, Anita. Quite beautiful! And the graphic is stunning...

This is such a poem that it bears rereading, then again. It holds mystism within its structure, but the realism of the words are too important to be shunted away. Very good.

that yearning for oneness underlies all expressions of devotion and connection, one to another, all to all...soulful expression, poet.
