As long as you keep getting born, it's alright to die some times. ~Orson Scott Card

DIAMOND SOUL

Moonlight guardian of the night soul
Before the diamonds, come the coal
Signature by smudge when pressed
Deep within a blind recess

A cleft of years survived untried
Advancing time demanding bribes
With naught to show, and less to give
The coal would be, left as it is

Until the stars would claim their own
In midnight blues veined raven tone
For buried in a tight recess
Dark coal would birth as diamond pressed

As the fallen angel cries
To find that home within the skies
To know it's there, yet out of reach
This timeless yearning, will not cease

For earthly stars upon this plane
Evolve as diamonds and remain
Among the strongest pressed from coal
To birth as stars with diamond souls

The inner light that shines from within, during times of duress or heartache, bring us to a new state of being and strength.  Before the diamond,  indeed comes the coal. After the trials and survivals of existence, that many endure,  we find an inner light shining, which connects us to an even greater and most powerful light of all. ~Good Queen A Pax, The Cookie War Chronicles

(Ok, this is a serious poem, but since I am on a cookie roll, I had to get that last crum in since i don't have a cookie comeback)

Tis' a wonderful reprieve from the cookie wars, beautifully profound Anita. I fear this is just a merely a respite, no doubt Ogre Ed will be lurking in the wings to spoil for some action.

And I thought this poem was going to be about an ogre's diamond soul.

(It is very good, though.)

YEs! "Diamonds in the rough, that's what we are/Diamonds in the rough, fuel for the fire"...a little ditty I wrote years ago. You know I appreciate this beautiful write, Anita!!! We're made of the same carbon as those stars. Tho sometimes we feel like stardust, or cookie crumbs...

Exceptional piece here Anita, your brilliance like the diamond shines through in this clever and insightful piece. The future is what we and the universe and all it's intricacies make of it. Thank you for sharing this great work.

Anita

They just won't let you and that nasty Ogre Ed fade away...see what you two have started...LOLS

Seriously this is a beautiful light bearing composition, and to my mind... religious write, that shows another one of your many facets of range and style..

Now that's out the way....now for those Cookie Chronicles...I've got an appetite again...:)

Anita...when you finally, truly, emerge........you will not only have the simmering beauty that already glows from you on the inside, but the multi-faceted surface that makes your pen...diamond sharp!

You ARE a gem! love&prayers, Rhonda Happy 4th to you & yours!

This poem is like a finely cut diamond, every facet is perfection. It is the trials and tribulations that we endure that bring out the very best in us, this is so true. Without knowing pain, how could we ever have compassion, without falling we would have never learned how to walk. It is not about what happens to us in life, as we often have very little control over that, but it is how we respond to what happens to us in our lives that gives us character. Excellent poem...now let the Cookie Chronicles continue! If you are stumped, you could write a few lines (or ideas) then send them to some of the other advocates and let them feed you a sweet line or two to get your muse moving again. WE WANT MORE COOKIE CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS!!!LOL Happy 4th of July to you, Anita.
Take care,
Sherry

One of your best...but all of them are! This is a pen worthy of honor. You show the spirit of man and just how the soul morphs from the Light. There are are a lot of Light sSteppers here..you and me for two. I'm a little under the weather today and miss myself...my light..but I'll be glowing again.
Peace and harmony,
Susan
