A White Rose
Oh gentle rose
thou art true love
so white and pure
my heart thereof
Naught blood shall stain
this tender rose
present whilst thee
to your betrothed…
Whilst thou lay it on my bed
where I’ll lay my weary head
Eternal sleep shall close mine eyes
to slumber peacefully pray naught cry
For when you see this purest rose
Her scent so sweet her beauty hold
Lift it to your face foresee
your own true heart she’ll carry thee
And then my love nay tarry naught
spread her light her love has taught
though when the thorns did prick your heart
Remember love those last teardrops
For nothing nay was all in vain
a path we walk each every day
and when my love you see your rose
kiss her sweet naught let her go

The combination of these two gives this poem an extraordinary beauty.
It reflects the beauty of your heart, the pureness of your soul and the depth of your love.

This rose
From your garden taken
You know not what you hold
Silk's touch my senses waken
Sweet scent as it unfolds
Protected by a stem of thorn,
Cupped in green leaves’ walls
Soft petals in a teardrop's form
Show tears shall always fall
With warmth it opens slowly
Its tenderness disclosed
Its purity felt wholly
Its frailty exposed
Its scent so aromatic
The air to breathe it stole
As whispered words romantic
It fills the very soul
Known to us this rose shall fade
With care, another blooms
Replenishing each day
From love that it consumes
Not just a rose you gave me
But the love within your heart
Symbolic woman’s beauty
Of you, this rose, a part
