Life through a glass

Sydney, Australia has some open-air bars that are just wonderful for watching humanity pass by

 Life through a glass

Looking over a glass, the street is busy tonight

People, each with their life

Searching for love and finding strife

They search with their eyes, but no insight

The pimp is bitch'n to his money machine

Ordinaries stroll, and look at the action

Surprised by their own perverse attraction

Bikers, tramps and streets, complete the scene

Every emotion is present here

Multi-cultural human waves

F*** the world - Jesus saves

And the air is filled with fear

The bar slowly fills, and violates my solitude

The bass starts to pound with a mesmeric beat

There's no-one here I want to meet

The smoothies and their predators, so crude

Back in the street, faces upon faces

The sadness of life tears me apart

All of them have an aching heart

Different people, other times and other places

I often "people watch" when I have to wait for someone in the mall for example. I can relate to this poem and the theme that you share witing it. Thank you, David. Love and peace,

Regis

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
