Spirituality, Christianity, Islam, anything that honours our creator is OK by me! But when it is hijacked by radicals, of any persuasion, it becomes something ugly.

Tell me what I’m doing here

The darker side of how I feel

My life is somehow, so unreal

As I sit and watch the blood congeal

Tell me when my fate is near

Life is cheap when you’re inside

My heart in here, is open wide

Though strangely not, for the man who died

Tell me where can I shed a tear

There are many here, who I despise

You can see the fear, in their eyes

They just love to brutalise

Tell me why I have no fear

The lesson here, for me to see

Is how their faith is put to the test

In God’s name?  I must protest!

Send your sons to die for me

You’ll be a martyr for all to see

Their worldly acts count for what?

One and all, the serpents lot

It’s hard for me to be so meek

The path I walk at times is bleak

But the Lord’s salvation is what I seek

And it’s hard sometimes to turn my cheek

But if I let the darker side

Take my mind for a ride

I’m not arrogant, but do take pride

In my Christian faith, that doesn’t require

A hell bent mission to conspire

The genocide of souls who don’t desire

To tread the path, of Apocalyptic fire

Ignorance can be a fatal mistake

And one that I don’t care to make

The difference between our beliefs, you see

Is my Father sent His Son to die for me

I am not a fan of "organized religion." One only has to take a quick look throughout history to see the horrors perpetrated upon humanity by so-called "faithful followers." I pray all the time but I do not attend church. Thank you, David. Love and peace,

Regis
