Anger, the rage starts to rise
Tears in my head, blood in my eyes
All that I want is the will to forget
But it's here, I know, I just can't see it yet
But I'll use up the time wasting my time
The long journey turned short, it's the end of the line
Elusive love, it's gone again
Well, it's still here, its just turned to pain
I fear what's coming - the past shines bright
Where is my love, what is she doing tonight
The assassins will set about their task
But I will wear the familiar brave mask
I don't care, for you I won't cry
I am a master of that wretched lie
I hate this feeling that tears me inside
The empty feeling where love used to abide
The void is filled with jealousy and hate
This time I'll keep it, until it's too late
I won't evict this emotion, but help it grow
There’ll be no place left for my love to flow
I'll never experience that wonder again
But I'll never feel the empty pain,
never,
ever,
again.
Well, it's still here, its just turned to pain
I find this poem and what it expresses particularly soul-reaching and powerful in awakening emotions. Sadly, I can well relate to what is expressed. And even more sad, I have not found that "time heals all wounds" when it comes to matters of love gone astray. Thank you, David. Love and peace to you,
