I left her tonight

She dissolved in the disappearing tail-lights like her face in my mind,

I relive the day’s moments and they turn to memories

Alone again - empty again

Memories turn into assassins

They start to kill me

I love her so much

I miss her so much

I feel her loneliness for me

Alone I'm useless. I need her

Pray let me survive this night

Just till tomorrow will I love her

And then I'll let her go

But not tonight

Sleep rescues me from the pain I love so much

The morning will bring today

Tomorrow I will let her go

So much of your heart pours out in this that I can only say "sorry you lost her".

I'll bet you don't. It took me over 20 years. Good Luck with that. Thanks Dick

This one really grabs you! Are there any among us who have not felt such pain. My "puppy loves" were the worst of all because every time I was rejected I felt the world had ended.

There is a tomorrow, though, and it need not be a repetition of the same old pains. Let go and let God.

Your words & passion of love give me chills
in a good way of course & also knowing exactly

I've been here too...........and I disagree with Regis...I think time does have a way of healing...there's a difference between healing and forgetting...remembering is a good thing when a lesson's learned! As always, you write with such emotion...you make your readers feel.

I can relate so well to so much here.
The pain I love so much...
Very well done.

Tomorrow? You think so, David? I have not found it to be true that when it comes to love, "Time heals all wounds." A most compelling write. Thanks for sharing. I can relate. Love and peace to you,

Regis
