How it turned out

For reasons now I can’t explain

The tenets made appear in vain

Although the commitment was always there

The path I chose I couldn’t share

I don’t know why I did it

But the love I had I hid it

The price wrought is not mine alone

But the anguish bought is mine to own

The years are passing with no redress

Confinement has its own duress

But now as the winds of freedom blow

My lament is do they want to know,

Where I am and how I’m fairing?

The terror that they’re beyond caring

I wish I could get into their minds

To see of me as they see

Perhaps be the father they want me to be

The pain they give me is a measure of my love

I fear their pain is easing

I fear they have no pain

The depth of emotion and raw anquish is stunningly felt within this poet's chosen words...
I am left with a sadness after reading your poem, David.

Peace, love and light,

David, you say so much here, and there are so many meaningful verses, ...but this one,"The price wrought is not mine alone But the anguish bought is mine to own," says so very much, and I can feel its depth.

"The pain they give me is a measure of my love"
this weeps my heart of emotions
for myself knowing & also for others not knowing
and this David:
"The price wrought is not mine alone

But the anguish bought is mine to own"

what an awesome pair of meaningful phrasing which can
be applied to so many paths & choices we make in life...

Emollients Soothing Balms...
