Truthful and touching poem, Steve. A cycle indeed! Human's, plants, etc. We're born, present our gifts of beauty, love, light or darkness to the world, then return to that from which we came! I like your work.

What a SPLENDID piece! I am sorry to hear of your loss of a friend to cancer as I am now luckily a survivor times two, but I offer a piece of poetic wisdom which I feel this truly splendid piece speaks...
We begin as seeds of ashes and dust
with nurturing tenderness and love we break free of our seed crust
We seedlings grow in harmony and trust
with trials and errors put in our ways we do as we must
We continue onward and upward till one day our shells no longer hold us and bust
with the promise of rebirth and our faith in such back we go to ashes and dust

Wonderful, and deeply mindful poem. Though all appearences are transitory, our true nature isn't - the only consolation I can offer. Franz

This was a lovely and beautiful tribute, for I felt that is what it was, so heart-wrenching and true, I am sorry for the loss of your friend,

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
