“It’s just a drink.”
That is so easy to say,
But who are you talking to?
The little boy who sees it in his mother’s hand,
Sees that look on her face,
The stranger,
And doesn’t have a word for the pain?
The little girl lying in her bed crying,
Listening to all the screams
Coming from the other room?
The parents who arrive at the Emergency Room
To learn they don’t know who they are?
“It’s just a drink.”
But don’t tell that to me.
it would not be just a drink for me, it would be the end of all i have achieved over the last 15 years...one drink and it would all be down the drink...so to speak
