I Used To Dream

I once attended snowflakes in a freefall from the sky,
A crystal diamond teardrop for the feelings you would cry-
If I could ever find you in this drifting sea of air
I’d land in golden silence on the softness of your hair.

While sailing as a snowflake I could melt instead of die
If tides would turn against me without giving reason why.
My hope should be invincible, forever and a day,
I used to be a dreamer, and I used to feel this way.

But even stars in Heaven have a time when they must fall,
And burn without an answer but to know they gave it all,
And that is what I dreamed about, a life in which I knew
That all that Heaven offered me was freely given you.

I used to be a dreamer in a life that wasn’t real,
But one so full of wonder in the way that I could feel,
A world apart from heartache in the greatest dream, of you-
So dreaming I could love you is the thing I used to do.

Sometimes we just have to change or redirect our dreams a little to reflect reality of what can be.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
