Safe Mode

Thank God computers taught me this
So when I hear the serpent hiss
There’s no surrender to such fate-
I have the means to make him wait.

And wait the serpent will not do.
He has no patience to pursue-
Whatever gains he might receive
If he can’t have them now, he’ll leave.

And so I linger in this mode
My life to the computer owed.
It’s safe but not ideal for sure-
But I won’t bite the serpent’s lure.

Yes fools rush in where angels fear
To tread as I am treading here-
But patience will outlast this threat-
This angel serpents will not get.

We are not weak who choose to pray
As serpents slither on their way
To feast on those with no respect
Who even God cannot protect.

Wise words John! A poem with much to ponder, and you are right to stay in safe mode to wait it out. Whatever it is will soon find an exit, and we have His promise, to be with us. Excellent as always John!

Love,
Eileen
