Why Do I?

Why do I still remember you?
The greatest dream to not come true -
This vision flashed before my face
Of love that never would take place.

Why can’t I seem to shake this now-
That we should be a pair somehow?
Why should what feels so meant to be
Be something I will never see?

Please tell me now before I cry.
If you don’t love me tell me why.
Is what I feel some big mistake?
A heart not meant to love- but break?

No matter what, I feel this way-
It will not matter what you say.
So catch the tears next time it rains
For mine is love that never wanes.
