Reaching

The heart will go where it will go,
No matter if the mind says, “No.”
Conflicting feelings may cause hurt
With needs it must at times assert.

But loving hearts will strive somehow
If circumstances will allow
To reach the ones that they can heal
With bonds that couldn’t be more real.

We need each other very much,
And none should go without the touch
That only certain hearts can bring
For all the hopes to which we cling.

So when you meet this kind of heart
Accept the gifts it would impart-
It is the answer to your prayers
To know that someone really cares.

Such is the case with you and me,
The agony, the ecstasy,
But mine is love to call your own-
So please don’t ever feel alone.
