The Need


In our lives people come and go,
friendships form a loving bond,
trust is broken in the natural flow,
can’t be fixed with a magic wand.

Each of us have self-serving ways,
searching for the happiness we find,
filling our needs we spend the days,
actions of others we constantly define.

Friends forever is the so called “we”,
until one day it’s all said and done,
suddenly it’s no longer meant to be,
anger and sadness replaces the fun.

A complicated life in which we live,
a delicate balance never to be kept,
waiting to receive forgetting to give,
the uncertainties we just don’t expect.

Price of friendship is often too high,
influenced by our wants and greed,
left alone in the dark wondering why,
in want of friendship for our own need.
