I
With the end of summer,
I have something to say.
It keeps tickling my mind,
Like a ladybug who won’t fly away.
II
What happened?
Memories fade.
Didn’t I thru the streamlet wade,
And pick flowers in a quiet glade?
III
Where has summer done gone,
Leaving me alone and forlorn?
Why can’t I capture the heart of summer’s joy,
And keep it in a pocket like a child’s toy.
IV
Still, the leaves are turning yellow, brown and red
A new season is upon us, about to be bled,
Awakening me to a range of budding memories,
Opening my heart with unique offerings instead.
V
Seasons come and seasons go,
Nothing can stop that eternal flow.
Time’s arrow will reach its mark,
There, I see it coming, listen, hark.
