Somewhere a flower blooms,
I cannot tell you where.
It is enough to know that it exists,
Sharing its beauty in the universal loom.
I often see it clearly in my dreams,
In the distance like a desert mirage,
I lean forward to smell its fragrance,
Emanating from this delicate corsage.
But the dream at once escapes me,
As though it were never there.
Will I ever be able to recapture it,
As I fall into a fathomless despair?
Enough perhaps to know it exists,
On the inside where hope resides.
I need to look within my inner rooms,
To know somewhere a flower blooms.
