Between the day
That always ascends
And the night
That always descends
Lies twilight space
A place between.

Between the life
That lives forever
And the death
That never dies
Lies twilight space
A place between.

Between the burning fire
Stoking the smoldering embers
And the cooling waters
Flowing over smoothed rocks
Lies twilight space
A place between.

Between the misunderstanding
That draws us apart
And the reconciliation
That brings us together
Lies twilight space
A place between.
5
Between the love
That lifts us up
And the hatred
That tears us down
Lies twilight space
A place between.
6
Between abiding faith
That awakens possibility
And random disbelief
That creates shadows
Lies twilight space
A place between.
7
Between the ticking of a clock
And the beating of a heart
Between the sounds that silence
And the silence that sounds
Lies twilight space
A place between.
8
Between the doubt
That questions our motives
And the certainty
That enlightens the mind
Lies twilight space
A place between.
9
Between the seen world
That fills the five senses
And the unseen world
That fills the inner senses
Lies twilight space
A place between.

Between hope
That encourages the mind
And despair
That discourages the heart
Lies twilight space
A place between.

Twilight space,
A place between,
Neither here, nor there,
Now nowhere,
Already gone,
As if never there.
You have written a very philosophical view of the middle ground… The place between. I think this is the most comfortable place to be and only becomes that way when one has faced the harshness outside this twilight of being. Simply lovely in the thoughts that it provokes.
twilight space is a nicely sounded term for the place in the mid between day and night (which is neither day nor night) is taken here as a pivot around which the opposite powers revolve alternatively. However, this point of a day cannot be fixed precisely, as its mixed energy is constantly flowing, like everything in our life, to be ‘neither here nor there. . .’ emphasizing our incapability to reach what is just in front of us. This piece of poetry suggests treating the twilight phase of a day as the ‘star gate,’ the portal of entering the other dimension in order to look at the earthly duality from the heavenly high ;)) Repeating the round ten times refrain, the author speaks of his strong intent to conquer that height.
