Human Halo
By John Herlihy

Inner contentment,
Some call it happiness.
Inverted distress,
Others call it sadness.
We carry things inside;
Some things we cannot hide.
They emerge on their own;
A light faintly shone.
We exude a mellow light,
Only a hint of swan white.
A spirit-filled glow,
Wonder to bestow.

Like the moon’s first blush,
To accompany night’s hush.
Happiness a blue corona,
A magic nimbus as persona.
Sadness the color of tears,
Thimblefuls across the years.
Rain color In the corona,
We give off a faint aura.
Throwing off inner light,
An aureole burning bright.
Neither happy nor sad,
In a human halo clad.

You are a master with using wonderful words to give definition to your poetry and to the spirit of what you are attempting to get across.
