The tapestry of life but exaggerated and brief;
The journey truly perilous with very little relief,
Woven with light and darkness in knotted cord,
Offering trial and tribulation we can hardly afford.
The life but parchment written upon ancient scroll,
Unravelling as a ball of yarn as years quickly unroll.
What happens but the scenes of day are given light,
Destiny runs its course as a profoundly human right.
Mysteriously, the hand of fate lies upon the curtain,
Drawing the drapery back with fingers most certain.
Memories and emotions seen that one cannot hold,
Imagination gives the scene light as the story is told.
The precious tree of life grows in an enclosed arbor,
Created by the Hand of God with an exquisite labor.
Divine Hand upon human hand in mutual embrace,
They gaze one upon the other with a luminous face.
To think about each and every THREAD used in a tapestry makes me think of every person in our lives are like those threads and someday "the big picture" will show itself. Great write!!
We human beings have a knack for re-creating nature beautifully like in the tapestry shown and then destroying it. While the craftsman sees the beauty and intricacy of nature, the conqueror sees none of it and readily destroys both: nature and the artwork depicting it.
In the end it may be only the poem and the photo left in the ether after the original is destroyed.
No one can paint "Life's Tapestry" in the manner you can, John. Read this poem three times. Each time was a stunning highlight for me. First two lines set the stage and everything else fell into place.
