When You Break

When you break,
The pieces don’t stay broken for long.
When you brake,
It’s only for a minute as you speed along.
When you smile,
Your gift contains incredible wealth.
When you laugh,
You give yourself away without any stealth.
When you cry,
Then it is my turn for my heart to break.
When you sigh,
I hold you tight for both of us, for our sake.
When you take courage,
I feel completely filled to the brim.
When you falter,
I bear it upon myself as my own sin.
When you reply,
I thank God in heaven that you are here.
When you die,
You will be with me, forever near.
