Wondering
By John Herlihy
Would you miss me more,
If I were gone?
Would you desire me more,
If I didn’t belong?
Would you give me up,
If I made a mistake?
Would you hold on to me,
If I were ready to break?
Would you laugh at me,
If I seemed crazy?
Would you scold me,
If I were lazy?
Would you hate me a while,
If I lied to you in guile?
Would you turn the other cheek,
If I were aggressive, not meek.
Would you hate me with scorn,
If I seemed like a thorn.
Would you love me forever,
If I said never?
Would you stay with me,
If I asked to be free?
Wondering has a way
Of saying yea or nay.
We may like or dislike
The answer it may say
-Zach
I "like"!!!
Love ya!

A heartfelt poem, John! I have been wondering about the same things too, sometimes.
