Before I Was Born

By John Herlihy

Where was I before I was born,

In wind blown as a floating leaf.

Rolling sagebrush lost and forlorn,

Life stole me from nowhere, a thief.

Where was I then before I was born,

With no past, from the future torn.

I look around feeling simple relief,

Days ahead, time enough for grief.

Secure in life, no need for scorn,

The candle will flicker but brief.

Where was I before I was born,

In wind blown as a floating leaf.

You saw me before I was born,

Eternity is forever, life but brief.

When I landed, I did feel grief,

Knowing that I had been born.

YES...AND THIS IS THE ONLY REASON WHY, NO MATTER WHO OR WHERE WE ARE, WE CAN FEEL SO 'SIGNIFICANT'. BECAUSE YEARS BEFORE WE WERE EVEN A 'TWINKLE' OF DESIRE IN OUR PARENTS EYE...GOD 'KNEW' THE DAY AND HOUR OF OUR ENTRANCE INTO THIS WORLD...HE 'KNEW' US, BEFORE HE FORMED US, EVEN THEN. I LOVE YOUR LAST TWO LINES...SO THAT'S THE REASON WE CRY OUT AT BIRTH, HUH?(SMILE). THANK YOU FOR SHARING, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Remarkably difficult for us mortals to comprehend this. I remember you posting this same poem in late September. A message like this, though, is good to hear twice. Peace... r

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
