- Other Worlds -

By John Herlihy

Look

and listen

first origins

then final end

Awake or asleep

our thoughts wander

dreams of other worlds

we can’t be here on our own

the day wakens quietly at dawn

that has happened since first day

the twilight has lingered, then fallen

the night has arrived in all its blackness

fingers of flame illuminated the darkness

ragged sparks crackled down into the wind

the fire offered heat; beyond the fire was cold

with all the darkness, the night was crystal clear

and in that pristine darkness, the stars were falling

where were they falling from; where were they falling to

the old hunter pulled his blanket about him, his breath white

I wonder if there are other worlds, he thought, is this the only one

right at the void of other worlds, I do know a sure thing: We are here

I AGREE...! EVEN IF THERE ARE OTHER WORLDS, WHICH I THINK THERE ARE, I AM CONTENT TO EXIST HERE WHERE GOD HAS PLACED ME. I AM NOT AT ALL INTERESTED IN SPACE EXPLORATION AND I FEEL THAT A GREAT DEAL OF THE IMBALANCE WHICH OUR PLANET IS EXPERIENCING, SUCH AS INCREASED EARTHQUAKES AND TEMPERATURE CHANGE IS DUE TO US DISTURBING THE NATURAL ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE OF OUR ATMOSPHERE. 'PIETY BEGINS AT HOME', LET'S TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN WORLD FIRST, BEFORE WE EVEN CONSIDER TRYING TO FIND...OTHER WORLDS. LOVE THE SHAPE AND STYLE OF THIS SHARING, THANKS. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I find it hard to believe that there isn't other life out there in the cosmos. The universe is a big place. Who knows what's out there?

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
