- Finding Perfection -

By John Herlihy

The crooked smile in the aging face,

A line of wrinkles seemingly made of lace.

In the eye of the storm lies amazing grace,

The secret cave an enchanted place.

Even when totally lost there lies a trace,

In our imperfections lay the perfection we efface,

The darkest night does the day erase,

The day’s awakening always keeps apace.

The peace of snow does winter enlace,

The desire for perfection haunts the human race.

In dreams, we spin perfections that never keep pace,

Fleeting ghosts that never truly surface.

In our imperfections lies hidden perfection,

Its elusive mystery escapes our detection.

That’s why we seek in life’s imperfection,

Hints of perfection that are just perfect.

Do not expect to find the perfect offering,

The mirror of the world reflects everything.

In the universal mirror lies a crack to bring

That one Shining Light as the perfect thing.

Nobody's Perfect.... Nothing is Perfect.... and that is how life is... accepting the current reality.. accepting the pain will hurt less.

THE ONE SHINING LIGHT...THAT 'PERFECT THING' HAS ALREADY ALIGHTED THIS UNIVERSE. TRY AS WE MIGHT THAT 'PERFECTION' CANNOT ME FOUND HERE, THOUGH WE DUTIFULLY SEEK IT DILIGENTLY. WHEN WE THUS FIND SUCH AGAIN...IT WILL BE ON 'PERFECTION'S TURF FOR ETERNITY. THANKS FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Beauty always lies in the eyes of the beholder. The world is perfectly imperfect.
