-- Lost in Our Dreams --
John Herlihy
We live in time, but not always in time’s moment,
This time, perhaps that time, once upon a next time.
Future nearly upon us without claiming its moment,
Hovering there in the distance, always eager to arrive.
But arrive it never does, the present takes claim;
The future is but an illusion and has no other name.
The past on the contrary already gone on its way
The present moment takes leave with its final say
We try to live in the present, but not always there;
Daydreams help us escape weary moments to spare.
We look out the window to lose ourselves in trees;
We imagine summer in the hum of birds and bees.
Our dreams take us out of time, into eternity born;
The reality of our humdrum lives no longer borne.
Time stops its flow when we be lost in our dreams;
The real flow occurs when time disappears it seems.

Love ya!
Jane
But you are the master of the existentialism of time. Displayed in this beautiful poem.
