-- The End’s Beginning -- John Herlihy The end of something is never truly the end, It only seems that way. We need to face the fact that the end comes, At any time or place. Childhood ends, school ends, the job ends, Nothing goes on forever. Some things end so that other things can begin, It’s the way of the world. The day ends in twilight as the night draws near, Even the sun is put to rest. The end of the road, end of the tunnel, end of the track, The way never goes back. Seasons have their beginning and they have their end, Nature’s cycles never favor delay. Sorrows, miseries, hardships all finally come to an end, Their end marks a true beginning. Where happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment all find their place, The law of opposites prevails. No better description then this of evolution where as one epic eon ends, so another begins. Such is the cycle of the universe. The lifecycle of the fruit fly is very short. Yet they proliferate wherever there is fruit to live on.

This poem is so apropos for me right now. And it's appearance doesn't really surprise me for there have been a lot of cosmic shenanigans here of late that seem to be pulling me toward the light, so to speak. It's reassuring that even here, through your pen, I would also be finding that reassurance that things really are going to be alright.
