-- Those Cathedral Bells --

John Herlihy

In the peal of those cathedral bells,

I feel awash in such rhythmic bliss.

In an ocean of sound my heart thrills,

Of all the true love I will ever miss.

In life’s journey we tread a long way,

To love and be loved without remorse.

Tender moments words can never say,

To endure eternally with such force.

I pause a moment without words,

Wishing to take this feeling within.

Awash in an ocean of silvery birds,

The fresh air, the blue sky, all akin.

The scent of the mimosa does thrill,

To mimic her smell of loving delight.

Strange how odors remember still,

A ghostly beauty once within sight.

May these bells resound thru ages,

As soft wind turns those lost pages.

INDEED, AND WE BEING SO DIFFERENT, REQUIRE DIFFERENT 'BELLS'... THAT ARE SO VARIED IN THEIR MISSION. AND SO THEY COME BRIEFLY, WITH THEIR WONDERFUL FRAGRANCES...DISSIPATING AT ALMOST THE VERY MOMENT THEY ARRIVE. AND YET THE MEMORY OF THOSE WONDERFUL 'CATHEDRAL BELLS' THAT REQUIRE NO WORDS, STRENGTHEN, INSPIRE AND BESTOW 'EXACTLY' WHAT ONE NEEDS TO BE FULFILLED AND PRESS-ON! ALL I CAN SAY IS, GOD IS MARVELOUS! WELL DONE AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

A beautiful poem full of retrospection. I loved the gentle nature of it.
