I cringe at the, "We cannot have," of your opening premise and then the finding that the second part of the line makes the first part possible. An interesting exercise in poetic structure, but I'm not too happy with a free spirit defining sent certainties in every line.

To be honest, I would challenge your first line. Perhaps it's my interpretation that is off, but I have an abundance of faith in all that is not of super natural grounding. E.g., that science and math has much to still discover and offer to humanity. Having studied much philosophy, including the Eastern doctrines, I find there is much that is too westernized and not enought using for example, the eastern exterience of Zen. Such may have some super natural belivers involved, but my trust in "faith" is grounded by avoiding that which is so often mistaken for reality, suggesting an alter reality that is guised in "faith" in the imaginative elements of our thinking capacity Yes, faith may be a conviction of many in the supernatural, but I think more room needs to be made for those of us who see beyond the "I want to believe" and into "I place my trust and faith in the proven facts that take less effort to believe and more effort to push for more. After all, all of philosophical belief is but a weigh station awaiting the next iteration of findings." Not to demean your poem, but I think perhaps a consideration of the first line might be broadened to include those of us who couch "disbelief" as arguable grounds to realize the greater truth. Just some thoughts. The rest of the poem was right on.

What good is survival if you can't truly live? It would mean merely existing. For better or for worse, it's that free spirit that makes it all worthwhile.
