-- Inside Our Own Heads --

John Herlihy

We live inside the density of our own heads,

Fail to see tulips and daffodils as newly-weds.

All the voices, moodiness, the self-pity to spare,

All the accusations and blame the worse for wear.

We hardly have luxury to climb out of ourselves,

To set free the curiosity of all those inner elves.

Beauty of nature before us; we hardly take notice,

Purple lilacs, yellow pansies, the immaculate lotus.

The shells of turtle, snail, and all those seashells,

Joyous voices of birds and bees their mystery tells.

Butterflies flit by us without a care in the world,

Forget not out of sight the diamond and the pearl.

Allow these miracles of nature to invade our head,

To soothe the soul and spirit of its lingering dread.

WE LEAVE NOTHING BEHIND, WE CARRY EVERYTHING WITH US. RECORDED AND NEATLY STACKED, IN NUMEROUS WAYS, THERE ARE WAITING FOR US BEAUTIFUL THINGS...INSIDE OUR OWN HEADS. AT OUR DISPOSAL, WE NEED ONLY TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK AND APPRECIATE THEM...THEN THE 'LIFT' WE SEEK IS OURS. 'WHATSOEVER THINGS ARE...LOVELY...THINK ON THESE THING'. THANKS FOR THIS GREAT SHARING, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+ INSPIRATIONS

With mankind out of the picture a bit, nature is able to be more lush and beautiful. Our president is a mad man. Mixed emotions.

Love ya!

I think we all have a dark side to us. the trick is to recognize that and then control that side of us, while letting the good side come out.

Yes, we are our own worst enemy. Sometimes our thoughts would get carried away and some thoughts aren't pleasant thoughts. That is why when I write my fantasy stories I would always write them into good feelings and beautify the world. We need to rid ourselves of bad thoughts and see the beauty of the world around us. Sadly, this world is being destroyed now by human's greed and ignorance. Very sad indeed!

If I'm not careful I can get bogged down in the minutiae inside my head. Sometimes it almost takes a physical effort to remove myself from it so I can enjoy the beauties of life around me. But I always succeed!
