We know very little in this life,

But one thing we know for sure.

God does exist amid all the strife,

Deep in the heart, one thing pure.

I listen within and what do I hear,

The lilting melodies of a dawn lark.

All the sweet mysteries I hold dear,

All well-hidden like a secret remark.

People try to tell me who God is,

It is no secret that nobody knows.

All the speculation nothing but fizz,

He is as near as the end of a nose.

Our choices end up as guesswork,

Wrong choices make us feel the jerk,

We believe in a truth based on faith,

Just as forlorn and innocent as a waif.

Lie to the world, but one thing know,

Deep in the heart beats an inner glow.
