-- Perfect Balance -- John Herlihy Treat others as you yourself wish to be treated. See in others what you wish to be seen in you. Speak to others as you wish others would speak. Listen to others as you would wish others listen. Sing to others as you would wish to be sung to. Cling to others as you would wish to be clung to. Be for others a friend you may wish others to be. Give to others what you have others give to you. Be quiet with others as you wish others to be quiet. Comfort others as you would wish to be comforted. Talk with others as you would wish to be talked to. Do unto others as you would wish to be done unto. Imbalance is found when mindlessness goes array. I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SHARING. BUT, THERE IS NO SUCH THING. WHY? BECAUSE THE WORLD IS LACKING THE MAIN INGREDIENT TO ACHIEVE OR ADHERE TO 'PERFECT BALANCE'...THAT IS, LOVE OF GOD! THE PERPETRATOR AND THE VICTIM BOTH NEED LOVE AND IT CAN'T BE FOUND, JOHN. AS I SAID IN MY REVIEW OF YOUR PREVIOUS SHARING, 'MEASURE IN BALANCE'...THANK GOD FOR HIS MERCY AND GRACE. THEY ARE OUR 'PERFECT BALANCE' BECAUSE NONE OF US POSSESS 'LOVE OF GOD' IN THE CAPACITY THAT IS NECESSARY TO BE...'PERFECT' AND NOT GO 'ARRAY'. REMEMBER; 'FOR ALL HAVE SINNED'. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Adherence to the Golden Rule is to achieve near perfect, if not perfect, balance. It is only when we fail to give equally of ourselves that we lose our ability to live in balance with one another.

I live by those famous words of James Coburn in Waterhole #3, "Do it on to others before they do it on to you."

But you have astounded me with the many variations of the Golden Rule you have produced in this poem. Your creativity of expression is unmatched among poets that I have read. Kudos.

A perfect outline of qualities leadership, be it in the family, business, or community, that becomes a treatise to follow as the election nears and hopefully a cure for our pandemic. You are so right with "Imbalance is found when mindlessness goes array." Well penned, John.

'Perfect Balance' brings to mind (for this reader) Matthew 7:12� �So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.� And also, as you've paraphrased, Luke 6:31� �Do to others as you would have them do to you.� Sounds so simple. Sadly, it escapes so many. An insightful piece John. Enjoyed. Peace... rlc
