-- The Ebb Tide --

John Herlihy

We are as unsure about the past,

As we are unsure about the future.

The future has yet to happen,

The past will no longer happen.

What is it that truly happened,

Will we ever really come to know.

We know certain things did happen,

Memory retains them in a faint glow.

What is it that may happen,

Will we feel joy when we come to know?

We know certain things bound to happen,

Some things will even have a faint glow.

Life marked by waves that are tidal,

A realm of opposites with ebb and flow.

Fullness with feelings of emptiness idle,

Wonder and peace in the fragility of snow.

Like snowflakes, we are each a soul unique,

We descend from heaven as gentle flakes.

Deep within, we experience an aura mystique,

A promise and a trust that only God creates.

Let time ebb and flow as we know it must,

The world turns in orbit as we make our way.

The future and the past linked together in trust,

What is given in the flow, the ebb tide takes away.

A piece of wordsmithing that gives unique verbal meaning to the yin and yang, the perpetual circle of life, the circular nature of life to death. Much to contemplate here.

Some call it the pendulum of life. Others like you may call it the tides. Regardless of what it is in the political realm usually means that the leadership may change but the central course of our leadership will not vary very much because of the tenure of of the center… The backbone of the people. Straight and strong, leading us in the right direction all along.

this is the way it goes, we should flow with that tide as it comes and goes

Let time ebb and flow as we know it must, we need to trust that if we let go and live each day to our very best knowledge, that all will be well, with our future. You make me realize how important it is, not to get to caught up in the past, and how essential it is to hope for the best outcome. Thank you for sharing, God bless you John.

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to
