I like it when you experiment with different poetic forms. In this case, treating opposites as alternatives of the same. But then, you change it up in the end and come home. Cool.

Our first impression of homecoming is when the home football team has been away playing other teams in the old days when transportation was largely train or bus. When they got home to play a game against a rival, there was a big celebration (nobody cared that they missed all that school, they were athletes) that has become a football tradition--homecoming. Some graduates come home every year to watch the game and celebrate, but most graduates don't.

I prefer the second meaning of homecoming… When someone has been away for a long time, either by career or by choice, and then returns, sometimes in retirement to that familiar place of youth.
