It boggles my mind that they are some of the last of the dinosaurs. They are so beautiful and actually so benign. Can live in any climate and taste so good. I'm sure glad they survived that extinction along with a few mammals and lots of insects. And we must not forget the fishes of the sea that survived as well.
I would tend to agree with your premise in this tribute to our feathered friends. They are indeed special and provide language and behavior patterns that when watched closely, remind us of the wonders of communications inherent in all of Nature... including the leaves and tree limbs, the kernels of sand in a storm, and raindrops. Thanks for the reminder.
