-- Reality – John Herlihy Reality Whatever it is, it must be true We decide, from what we knew We choose, then live with it Reality Whatever it is, in spite of it We breathe, we live our lives This is what becomes our reality Reality We yearn, we seek, we love Alone, but we don’t want to be Loneliness seeks the source of love Reality We are at first little and innocent They we grow big and bigger yet Until little and innocent no more Reality We surge on ready for the world But the world a humbling place Not the world that we expected Reality We love, but are not loved Seeking balance in imbalance This too a sad reality, unloved Reality We love and are loved in return Find balance on life’s scale This a fine reality, loved Reality As we age, we feel a sense of destiny Circumstances created and never changed My life, a unique life, no one else’s life Reality We the victims of our changing moods Happy / sad, cold / hot, rising / falling Changing seasons like the changing seasons Reality Blind and refusing to see, a harsh reality Blind and wanting to see, a hopeful reality To believe without seeing unveils reality - - - - - - Copyright © John Herlihy Wednesday 11 May 2022

WE HAVE TO ACCEPT INDIVIDUALS AND HOW THEY HAVE LEARNED TO 'SEE' THINGS. AS LONG AS A PERSONS REALITY IS NOT NEGATIVELY AFFECTING SOCIETY WE ACCEPT PEOPLES IDIOSYNCRASIES. WHY? faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. and reality is what we placed our faith into until it objectifies in this material world. love the ending of this poem. thank you.

Reawakened some reality for me. When life is good we like to call that reality. But when life tends to be bad and our moods change from buoyant to sad or miserable, we often seek out alternatives to reality like fantasy or other diversions like addictions.

Interesting perception of a sense of being that few seem to be paying much attention to. Your subtext begs for humankind to seek reality as such and not wander into fantasies of delusion which far too many do. Thank you for sharing.
