We come into this world in the dawn of our infancy,

We have now awoken.

To live a unique destiny amid the challenges of this world,

A noble life to betoken.

We take first breaths, have first thoughts, feel first moments,

A growing awareness.

The journey begins under tutelage of father and mother,

A knowing consciousness.

As we age, we shed innocence in the halls of happiness,

And in the pit of despair.

We pass thru the hills and valleys of trial and tribulation,

Heads bowed in prayer.

We enter the realm of enduring love blessed by another,

Such sweet intimacy.

We enter the realm of unexpected hardship and turmoil,

Such dreaded instability.

We live in a reality that is full of questions and doubt,

Faced daily with uncertainty.

We live in a reality that surrounds us with the unknown,

Faced daily with mystery.

We live in the world of our thoughts and our imagination,

Fueled by our dreams.

We live in a world full of positivity and hope,

Bursting at the seams.

We live in a daytime world full of activity and bustle,

Of shadows and sunlight.

We life in a nighttime world of slumber and serenity,

In those dark, moon-filled nights.

We live in a world that arrives seemingly accidentally,

At the time of our birth.

We live in a world that departs seemingly instantly,

At the time of our death.

In the afterlife, we sleep in the slumber of the eternal,

Protected, never forsaken.

Dreaming the dreams of the new life to come upon us,

Until we again awaken.
