We all need something to believe in,
Aspiring to virtue amid our deeds grim
In making decisions, we hear a voice,
A ghostly specter offering clear choice.
One marks a beginning, another an end,
Choice makes a difference, let’s not pretend.
Much is made of our tendency toward belief,
We all believe in something for added relief.
Some make a mockery of my much-valued faith,
A mind made of metal equally shaped by a lathe.
Why close the mind in a futile sense of obstinacy,
When open minds revel in the unknown mystery.
To believe in nothing aspires to the height of folly,
To believe in something, a thing sacred and holy.

I believe in continually seeking the truth and heading in that direction. If I find that the truth I've been seeking is wrong, I will usually change direction and follow the truth wherever it takes me. Believe me, this often is the most unpopular path, but the right one to take.
