-- We Cry, Cry, Cry --

by John Herlihy

We cry, cry, cry about many things,

Cry our hearts out at what life brings.

We cry of memories faded in distance,

Tears flow freely, arrive with persistence.

We cry over promises that were broken,

Betrayed by secrets that be openly spoken.

We cry about the many loved ones we miss,

Grown children, departed friends, first kiss.

A shadow of sadness configured in the face,

Calligraphic wrinkles scripted with such grace.

Farewell scene in a movie, death scene in a book,

Tears from watery depths my composure took.

Humanity with its capacity of feeling bereaved,

Profound in its import, in the heart conceived.

Throughout our lifetime moments to simply cry,

Moments of purification that no one could buy.

WHAT A RELIEF...WHAT A REFRESHING LIFT... WHEN WE CAN RELEASE THOSE PENT-UP FEELINGS THROUGH OUR OVERFLOWING TEARS. PRIVATE WATERS WASH OVER OUR SOULS REVIVING US.... WITH THE STRENGTH OF CALM THOUGHTS AND PEACE RETURNING. WHAT A BLESSING...TEARS...ARE! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

Wow, John, this is now my favorite of the favorites of yours. Its elegance radiates off the page in every way for me, the style with the lines touching each other, the visions portrayed individually in the togetherness of the form and collective message. Every line was a treasure of emotional worth. Usually I chose a favorite line; this time every single one is my favorite. Bravo, John, and thank you for this. ~~ djl

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
