-- Seeking Love --

John Herlihy

We dwelt in cyber space,

We found no other place.

We did find place for love,

She was my faithful dove.

She stayed forever there,

She answered my prayer.

She offered lasting hope,

I trembled as she spoke.

One day, she took sick,

I felt flicker in my wick.

Her flame burned heat,

My heart missed a beat.

She: Fever, chills, my dear,

He: Fear not; I am near.

She: Still, you seem so far,

He: Closer than that star.

She: Listen: comfort you are,

He: Listen: you are my star.

She: My tears, they do flow,

He: Weep not, for I know.

He: You will soon be well,

As I cast a magic spell.

She: Tell me what you know,

He: Rest in my arms: let go.

I had sought a love lit,

Thru her, I found it.

She sought a love lit,

Thru me, she found it.

When people do let go,

They will come to know.

In seeking love, we sift,

Finding love a rare gift.

FOREVER...WE ALL DO SEEK TO FIND THIS THING CALLED LOVE. AND, AS LONG AS THE EARTH SPINS THIS QUEST WILL GO ON. BUT, AS YOU SAY, TO FIND IT WITH THE MELTING OF TWO SEEKERS WHO BECOME ONE, THAT IS... 'REAL LOVE'...IS A RARE GIFT. HOWEVER, NOW AND THEN...IT DOES HAPPEN. THANKS FOR SHARING....LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

I read this on face book and found it to be very inviting.

I love the way you have portrayed love in this poem. In every couple one must go before the other.

And as I read this I thought that it was a real experience that you had. If it was, you were very brave to help her understand what letting go really meant.

You and I both find a plethora of material that encourages us to write often about love. (I've two postings today on love, a story and a poem) So, your words, and your imagination will always serve your need for love, just like the rest of us. I agree with your premise that to let go is to come to know the sifting will reveal. Thank you for posting.
