The Seen and the Unseen John Herlihy The messages of the seen Hints of visions of the unseen. The vision of the unseen Hidden in the messages of the seen. Only when night is dark enough Can these distant stars be seen. During the bright light of day, Those distant stars remain unseen. The message of the day is clear; Some realities there to be seen. The message of the night also clear; Some realities remain as unseen. When we see, what of the things we don’t see? We see the sun but do we see its light? We see the darkness but do we see the night? We see wind movement, but do we see its breath? We see the vast ocean, but do we see its depth? What can be seen in what we don’t see? An act of good will the result of being kind, A voice of encouragement originating in the mind. The forces of nature that speak of power and beauty, Laws of the universe that speak of profound mystery. When I open my eyes, what do I see? The living world spread out before me. When I close my eyes, what do I see? Visions of shadow and light pulsating within me. This really made me think� we perhaps could see �The Observer Effect� in Quantum Physics in this way too�

Another thorough review of what it means to try to perceive what is unperceived or unseen.

I'm always curious about what science is finding out about our perception of the seen and unseen. Like a dog having 25 times the ability to pick up a scent than we do and then eagerly gobble up human excrement as though it were candy when we can't stand the smell or the taste.

How our eyes have cones that see color in the light of day and then turn to rods that discern night images in black and white. Fascinating to me.

Dreams have a way of perceiving what people think may be unseen, particularly in images and videos' interpretation.

It's alarming to me how many people rely on what the dark web and all of its theories about things have come to the fore as being realistic and true� when they are not and can be easily proven not to be.

You confirm for me what I believe as well that the unseen often delivers "visions of shadow and light pulsating within me." As poets, I think there are many of us that fine the unseen with many metaphors that through the infusion of imagination into perhaps a remembered experience, image, sound, smell etc we gather a personal meaning that often is worthy of sharing and perhaps contributing to another's ability to catch the unseen as well. Interesting alert for not only writers, but everyday laymen who may very well have a different modality in which to adapt the unseen to.
