ON THE OTHER HAND...LIES PRESENT A PROBLEM FOR BOTH TRUTH AND POWER. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THOSE IN A RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP POSITION LEARNED THESE REALITIES...JUST SAYING. Reading between these insightful words, I'm struck once again (as it happens many times a day) by the number of false efforts and untruthful attempts to convince us that the lie is truth. Your poem brings forward several ways to deal with the persuasive power of saying or behaving with lies and how truth must dodge, thrust, and hold its ground is so important. Well said. Very timely poem. What is happening in the world now is frightening, but perhaps we can find a way to fight it with words reaching out to quench the lies with truth. The pen is mightier than the sword.
