Our Beloved Sun
by John Herlihy
Even the sun has its moments,
As it moves across the heavens.
The dewy dawn feels as awakening,
The flaming dusk feels as forsaking.
Early morning freshness has touch sublime,
The heavy touch of sultry heat of noon time.
The sun's pale face notable in winter,
Gazes upon earth with its raw chill.
the sun's burnished face in summer,
Invades every doorstep and windowsill.
In spring the sun's face covered by clouds,
The trees and grasslands covered in shrouds.
In autumn the sun's face has a frown,
Sadly watching as the dying leaves fall down.
Our sun ever smiling, ever tearful,
Our beloved sun always there, ever wonderful.
