I cannot be with you, but
Shut your eyes and you can see
In a little wooden frame
A picture - there - of me
I have a smile upon my face
It is just for you
I shall be with you one day
For now - it will have to do
We do not decide the weather
And we cannot stop a cold
But we still love each other
Whether we are young or old
Listen carefully - just pretend
That this is what I say
'In just a little while
I will come and stay'
We shall have lots of fun
Playing with your toys
Knitting with the little girl
Playing football with the boys
We shall read stories
Before you go to bed
But now, it must all happen
With just pictures in your head
