The longer that I’m involved in animal rescue
The more I see, of mankind’s atrocious cruelty
It is bad enough we still condone abandonment
But why we still condone torture, is beyond me
Yet another innocent victim of dog fighting
This gentle Boxer pup, was used as ‘Bait’
His face, riddled with wounds and mange
Then, tossed out on a street to die, his fate
A compassionate soul saved him from slow death
Now he had to endure weeks of painful treatment
Another compassionate soul, finally adopted him
Today, he has some love, peace, and contentment
A bill has recently been introduced in Congress
‘The Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act’
Which would make it a federal crime to even attend
Dog Fighting Exhibitions, a ‘Sport’ now growing fast
Like most animal cruelty activities, including the Puppy Mills
Dog Fighting continues to grow, because fighters make money
Unless their cash-paying customers, including our children today
Are penalized for participating, this cruelty will continue endlessly
Please help us, to assist these innocent victims, of our own race’s greed
Please contact your Congressmen, and demand the passage of this new bill
It is time for all of us, to stand up, for those who cannot speak for themselves
Man’s Best Friend deserves much better, than being tortured, tossed, and killed

Demanding The Swift Passage of H.R. 2492;
It’s bad enough that we allow their abandonment,
Ending Their Torture for Money, the least we can do.
A bill was introduced in Congress on July 11, 2011, that, if passed, would make it illegal to: Attend, or bring a minor to, an animal fighting venture. Bill H.R. 2492, the ‘Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act of 2011’ would amend federal law to provide:
A penalty of up to one year in prison for attending an animal fighting venture, and up to three years in prison for causing a minor to attend an animal fighting venture.
It’s time to close all of the many loopholes in our federal animal fighting laws,
Giving law enforcement the tools they need to hold animal abusers accountable.
