We’ve Found a New Home,
For ‘The Sad and Lonely Pair;’
And Now, We’ve Finally Found,
This Frightened Lost Dog Out There

She had wandered away from her home
It had been almost four long weeks now
She had become disoriented, and terrified
Running further and further away somehow
Her family put up ‘Lost’ posters everywhere
Many people searched for her, night and day
For the past month, she was seen several times
But when strangers approached, she raced away
Most recently, she was spotted at a cemetery
Which covers several acres, bordering a forest
I knew if we could locate where she was sleeping
Our chances of helping her to return home, the best
Several people now began scouring the wooded grounds
Searching for the spot where she was ‘nesting’ each night
After it was found, my trusty dog trap was set and baited
And she was caught, filling her family’s hearts with delight
Thankfully, she was not injured, and not in that bad of a condition
After wandering all alone in the cold, and starving for many weeks
Tonight, she’s once again snuggled up with her humans in her home
I love happy endings, for the lost and homeless animals that we seek
If Your Own Pet Should Become Lost,
Never Give Up Searching For Them;
They Would Never Give Up On You.
And Consider Giving a Homeless Pet,
A Loving New Home, For The Holidays;
So Many of Them, Are Now Lost and Lonely,
And They Truly Deserve A Second Chance Today.
