-->“Dogs give us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe.
We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps.
It is without a doubt the best deal that man has ever made.”
Roger Caras
He was starving out on the street
Sleeping in some bushes, all alone
He no longer trusted any human being
Until I rescued him, and brought him home
Today, he is my loyal friend and constant companion
He insists on following after me, he sleeps on my head
Now whenever I leave the house, he rushes to the window
And until I return home, his canine heart is filled with dread
He is the happiest, when I take him with me whenever I venture out
He could care less, that the Wind Chill outdoors, is now Forty Below
When I now head out, in my efforts to rescue other orphans out there
He rushes to retrieve his Forty Below Outfit, and out the door, we go
And now, when I’m out retrieving an abandoned canine, on the street
He welcomes them into my truck, somehow conveying that it will be OK
He seems to have an instinctive empathy, for street orphans like himself
And as I pen this, he now eagerly awaits, our Forty Below road trip today
“Dogs give us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe.
We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps.
It is without a doubt the best deal that man has ever made.”

Dogs do have a way of communicating. That weather sure is Ruff!
I wonder what happens when a dog finds a lamppost and leaves his mark.
Even though I live in a maisonette, first floor, I'm kinda tempted to follow my neighbours and share my life with a bow wow.
I think I just thought of the title for your next novel: The Canine Who Came in from the Cold. It would make a great canine cold war story.
